Replacement measuring pens must be replaced after use (calibration will then no longer work). Make sure that you do not leave the measuring tips exposed for long periods of time, as the electrolyte fluid will dry out and the pen will need to be replaced sooner.
Please note that the CaratScreenPen measures on the surface. It is not possible to penetrate thick gold plating without filing. More details on measurement results and correct interpretation can be found in the detailed operating instructions.
Goldanalytix Replacement pen V2 for CaratScreenPen V2 – the product features at a glance: Only compatible with CaratScreenPen V2 (from February 2026) Without cable (included in the CaratScreenPen's scope of supply) 3.5 mm jack socket, not cinch/RCA socket (see pictures) The CaratScreenPen uses a very small amount of harmless electrolyte fluid contained in the measuring pen during measurement. Due to the limited volume, the pen has a certain lifespan (typically 3 to 6 months), as reliable measurement can no longer be guaranteed once the fluid level falls below a certain level. Therefore, if you notice any deviations in the values or errors in calibration at any time, you should replace the pen. Slight leakage during transport or prolonged storage is normal. The excess liquid can be wiped off with a cloth and is harmless to health. However, if the pen leaks during the measurement process, please contact us. Keep the measuring pen closed and do not store it at high temperatures, as this will cause the liquid to evaporate more quickly. Please do not clean the measuring pen, as this can adversely affect the electrolyte fluid and thus distort the measurement results.
